Workshop Project Meeting

Prof. Alfredo Ortiz participated as a speaker presenting the European project PLAST4H2 “Plastic circularity through an efficient detection, collection and valorization into Hydrogen and value-added products” coordinated by the University of Cantabria at the launch day of the Bluepoint project “Transforming marine plastics into development opportunities”, both financed by the Intereg Atlantico program, held on November 14, 2024 at the Magdalena Palace, Santander and organized by Sodercan.

The director of MARE, Pedro Ruiz, also spoke at the event about the participation of this public company in the PLAST4H2 project, which carries out an advanced system for collecting plastics on the coasts of Cantabria for conversion into H2, energy and eco-plastics.

At the launch day, various speakers highlighted the potential of this initiative to address a critical environmental problem such as marine plastics, turning them into a source of economic and social development.
