Researchers from UC and UPV/EHU Highlight the PLAST4H2 Project at the European Researchers’ Night

Researchers from the University of Cantabria (UC) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) participated in the European Researchers’ Night 2025, held on Friday, September 26, to share the objectives and recent advances of the PLAST4H2 project. The European Researchers’ Night, celebrated simultaneously across hundreds of European cities, aims to promote scientific culture and highlight the impact of research on society and the environment.

During the event, both institutions engaged with the public through interactive activities and explanations showcasing how PLAST4H2 aims to transform plastic waste into clean hydrogen, promoting energy sustainability and plastic circularity. The project develops and validates innovative technologies to valorise waste plastics as an alternative feedstock for hydrogen production, contributing to the decarbonisation of industry and the reduction of environmental impact.

The PLAST4H2 project poster was also displayed during the event, allowing visitors to learn more about its main goals, technologies, and expected outcomes. Researchers from UC and UPV/EHU discussed with attendees how this innovative approach can help build a circular and low-carbon economy.

By taking part in this European outreach initiative, UC and UPV/EHU reaffirmed their commitment to bringing science closer to society and raising awareness about the role of research and innovation in addressing environmental challenges.
